한국의 야당 국회의원들은 미국과의 자유무역협정에 대한 표결 등 여러 쟁점 법안에 대한 처리를 연기하기로 한 후 12일 간의 국회 농성을 해제했습니다.
민주당은 6일, 여당인 한나라당이 쟁점 법안들에 대한 표결을 연기할 것이라는 국회의장의 확약을 받아낸 후 연좌 농성을 끝냈습니다.
정세균 민주당 대표는 농성 해제 결정으로 국회 정상화가 이루어지고 일괄 경제개혁 법안에 대한 표결이 가능할 것이라고 말했습니다.
한국의 야당 의원들은 미국과의 자유무역협정 비준을 막기 위해 지난 달 31일부터 국회 본 회의장 출입문을 안에서 걸어 잠그고 농성을 벌였습니다.

South Korean opposition lawmakers have ended their 12-day siege of parliament, after delaying proceedings there over several items of controversial legislation -- including a vote on a free trade deal with the United States.
The Democratic Party ended its sit-in today (Tuesday),after receiving assurances from the parliament's speaker that the ruling Grand National Party will delay voting on controversial bills, including the U.S. trade deal.
Party leader Chung Sye-kyun told reporters the decision will lead to normalization of the National Assembly, and will enable lawmakers to vote on a packet of economic reform measures.
Opposition lawmakers had barricaded the doors of the country's parliamentary hall since the end of December, to prevent the ratification of the free trade agreement with the United States. They contend the deal is designed to benefit the wealthy and big business, and will hurt South Korean labor and farmers.
The ruling party says South Korea needs the deal to stimulate its economy.
