이라크 수도 바그다드 북부 시아파 회교 사원 입구 부근에서 한 여성 자살 폭탄 공격범이 자폭해 적어도 35명이 숨지고 65명이 다쳤다고 보안 관계관들이 밝혔습니다.
관계관들은 시아파 회교도들이 이번 주 중에 있을 아슈라 행사를 준비하는 가운데 자살폭탄공격범이 카디미야 동네에 있는 이맘 무싸 알-카드힘 사원의 검문소에서 수많은 순례자들 사이에서 자폭했다고 전했습니다.
아슈라는 예언자 마호메드의 손자 이맘 후세인이 7세기 경 전투에서 사망한 것을 기리기 위한 날입니다.
올해는 1월 7일인 아슈라 행사를 위해 바그다드와 카발라에는 수 십 만 명의 시아파 순례자들이 운집할 것으로 보입니다.

Iraqi security officials say a female suicide bomber has killed at least 35 people and wounded 65 others near the entrance to a Shi'ite shrine in northern Baghdad.
Officials say the bomber set off her explosives among a crowd of pilgrims at a checkpoint to the shrine in the Kadhimiya neighborhood, as Shi'ites prepared for the Ashura holiday later this week.
Security officials say most of the victims of the blast near the Imam Moussa al-Kadhim shrine were Iranian pilgrims, including women and children.
Ashura commemorates Imam Hussein,a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, who died in a seventh-century battle. Ashura observances have been marked by sectarian clashes in recent years.
Hundreds of thousands of Shi'ite pilgrims are expected in Baghdad and Karbala for Ashura, which is January seventh this year.
