태국에서는 최근 몇 달간 반 탁신 시위대의 시위로 국정이 사실상 마비됐었습니다. 지난달에는 시위대가 방콕 국제공항을 점거해서, 국제선과 국내선 운항이 마비되기도 했습니다.

Supporters of deposed Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra are vowing to continue their protests after the new year to force the government to call fresh elections.
The pro-Thaksin demonstrators dispersed Tuesday after blocking parliament for two days. The demonstrators forced new Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to deliver his first major policy address from Thailand's Foreign Ministry.
The Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship is demanding Mr. Abhisit dissolve parliament and call general elections. They are angry over a court ruling that dissolved the previous government of Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat, a Thaksin ally.
Thailand has been roiled by months of protests by anti-Thaksin protests that virtually paralyzed the government. The protests peaked last month when the demonstrators shut down the capital's main domestic and international airports.
