유엔은 짐바브웨가 콩고 민주공화국을 통해 중국제 무기를 구입했을 수도 있는 믿을만한 정보를 입수했다고 밝혔습니다.
유엔안전보장이사회는 보잉 항공기가 올해 8월 콩고에서 짐바브웨로 중국제 무기 53톤을 수송했다고 밝혔습니다.
유엔 성명은 이 같은 무기 반입이 콩고민주공화국 동부 지역에 대한 무기 금수조치에 위배되는 것은 아니지만 콩고가 다른 나라들로 무기를 실어나르는 중간 기착점이 될 수도 있음을 보여주고 있다고 설명했습니다.
유엔은 이와 관련해 중국 정부에 서한을 보냈으며 현재 답을 기다리는 중이라고 밝혔습니다.
