미국 일간지 '뉴욕타임스'는 20일 중국 정부가 자사를 포함해 중국 정부에 비판적인 견해를 실었던 해외 언론사의 웹사이트를 차단하고 있다고 보도했습니다.
'타임스'는 또 중국이 이번주 초 영국 'BBC'와 '미국의 소리 방송' '아시아위크'의 중국어 웹사이트를 차단했지만 19일부터 다시 접속이 가능하다고 말했습니다.
'타임스'는 하지만 자사 웹사이트는 여전히 차단된 상태라고 말했습니다. 또 홍콩 신문 '밍파오' 웹사이트도 계속 차단된 상태입니다.
한편 중국 외무부는 이에 대한 해명을 내놓지 않고 있습니다.

"The New York Times" said today (Saturday) that China has blocked access to the newspaper's Web site and other news sites that are occasionally critical of Beijing.
The Times said Beijing blocked Chinese language versions of the BBC, Voice of America and Asiaweek earlier this week, but all were accessible again by Friday.
However, the paper said its site was still blocked today. The site of Ming Pao, a Hong Kong newspaper was blocked earlier this week and was still restricted on Friday.
The paper quoted Rebecca MacKinnon, a researcher at Hong Kong University who specializes in China's Internet controls, as saying the reasons for the restrictions are mysterious.
China's foreign affairs ministry offered no explanation for the blockages.
