유엔 난민고등판무관실은 콩고민주공화국 동부에 있는 최소 3만 명의 난민들을 보다 안전한 장소로 옮길 준비가 됐다고 밝혔습니다.
25일 발표한 성명에서, 유엔은 새로운 곳에 정착시킬 난민들이 현재 북키부 주의 주도인 고마 시 북부 키바티 부근 시설에 있다고 밝혔습니다.
이 시설들은 반군들이 정부군과 친정부 무장단체들간에 전투가 벌어진 최전선 인근에 있습니다. 주민들은 전투에 참가하는 병사들의 공격과 약탈을 두려워하고 있다고 난민 고등판무관실 대변인이 밝혔습니다.
유엔은 우선 병자와 노약자들을 고마 시 서부 외곽 지역의 시설들로 옮길 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

The United Nations refugee agency says it is ready to move at least 30-thousand displaced people in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo to safer locations.
In a statement today (Tuesday), the agency says the displaced civilians are in camps around Kibati, an area north of Goma, the capital of North Kivu province.
The camps are near the frontlines where rebels have been battling government troops and pro-government militias. A spokesman says residents live in fear of attacks and looting by soldiers in the conflict.
The U.N. says the first transfers will take the sick, the elderly and the young to four other camps on Goma's western outskirts.
Meanwhile, the U.N. World Food Program says food has been delivered to about 400-thousand displaced people in the eastern DRC.
