이번 헌법 개정안은 국가 두마 의원의 임기를 4년에서 5년으로 연장하는 내용도 담고 있습니다. 오늘 표결에서 헌법 개정안은 392 대 57로 통과됐습니다. 헌법 개정안은 앞으로 지방 의회에서 3분의 2 이상의 찬성과 상원의 승인을 받아야 합니다.
Russia's State Duma, the lower house of parliament, has approved a controversial measure that extends the presidential term limit from four to six years.
Opposition groups have harshly criticized the plan. They fear the constitutional amendment could be used as an excuse to call an early election in which Vladimir Putin, who now serves as prime minister, could run for the presidency.
The bill also extends the term of Duma lawmakers from four to five years.
The bill was passed by 392 votes to 57 today (Friday).
The constitutional amendments must now be approved by at least two-thirds of regional legislatures and the upper house of parliament.
