중국 공산당의 주웨이췬 통일전선부 상무부부장은 오늘 기자회견에서 달라이 라마의 요구는 티베트의 독립 추구와 같다며 이같이 말했습니다.
주웨이췬 부부장은 지난주 베이징에서 달라이 라마 특사단과 가진 회담에서 진전이 없었던 것은 달라이 라마와 특사단의 탓이라고 비판했습니다.
티베트의 정신적 지도자 달라이 라마는 최근 중국 정부에 대한 신뢰를 잃어버렸고 티베트 자치에 관한 중국측과의 회담도 포기했다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.

Chinese officials say that no progress was made at last week's talks on the status of Tibet and that Beijing will never accept the Dalai Lama's calls for greater autonomy.
Zhu Weiqun, executive vice minister of the Communist Party's United Work Front Department, today (Monday)described the talks in Beijing with the Dalai Lama's representatives as frank and sincere, but he blamed the Tibetans for the lack of progress.
Envoys of the Indian-based Tibetan government-in-exile have yet to comment on the meeting.
Zhu repeated China's position that Tibetan independence, semi-independence or what China calls covert independence is out of the question. He indicated that this was the message passed on to the Dalai Lama's envoys during the meetings.
