이에 따라 6석이 기독교, 야지디교, 샤바크교 정치인들을 위해 남겨졌습니다. 유엔은 12석을 권고했습니다.
당초 이라크 국회의원들은 4백40석 가운데 소수계를 위해 단 한 석도 배정하지 않기로 결정했었습니다. 하지만, 특히 지난 달 북부도시 모술에서 박해를 피해 피신했던 기독교인들로부터 비판이 쏟아졌습니다.
이라크 총선은 내년 초로 예정돼 있습니다.
한편, 이라크 수도 바그다드 중심부에서 오늘(3일) 두 차례에 걸친 폭탄 폭발로 적어도 6명이 사망했다고, 이라크 보안 당국자들이 밝혔습니다.
또한, 거의 동시에 발생한 이번 폭발로 경찰관 10명을 포함해 약 20명이 다쳤다고, 당국자들은 말했습니다.
아직 이번 공격이 자신들의 소행이라고 주장하는 단체는 없습니다.
Iraqi lawmakers have voted to
guarantee seats on provincial councils for religious and ethnic minorities.
Six seats are to be reserved for Christian, Yazidi and Shabak politicians --
half the number recommended by the United Nations.
Initially, lawmakers had decided not to reserve any of the 440 seats for
minorities. That drew criticism, in particular from Christians, thousands of
whom last month were forced to flee persecution in the northern city Mosul.
Elections are set for early next year.
Also today, (Monday) Iraqi security officials say at least six people
were killed when two bombs exploded in central Baghdad.
Authorities say about 20 others, including 10 police officers, were wounded in
the near simultaneous blasts.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
