매케인 후보는22일 뉴햄프셔에서 자신의 지지율이 뒤쳐지고 있음을 인식하고 있지만 유권자들은 선거 당일 현명한 최종 결정을 내릴 것이라고 말했습니다. 이날 선거유세중에 맥케인 후보는 미 상원 초선의원인 민주당의 오바마 후보가 과연 미국 대통령이 될 자격이 있느냐는 의문을 되풀이 제기했습니다.
같은 날 오하이오 주에서는 공화당의 사라 페일린 부통령 후보가 선거유세를 펼치면서 오바마 후보의 세금 감면 정책을공격했습니다.
한편, 민주당의 오바마 후보는 버지니아 주에서 자신의 국가안보 자문위원들과 만났습니다. 오바마 후보는 미국의 차기 대통령은 국가 경제문제 뿐 아니라 대외문제에도 면밀한 주의를 기울여야 하기 때문에 이 같은 시간을 가졌다고 말했습니다.

Several new voter surveys say Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama
has opened a double-digit lead over Republican John McCain, just 13 days before
Americans elect a new president.
Today (Wednesday)in (the northeastern state of)New Hampshire,
Senator McCain acknowledged he was behind in the polls but told voters they
will have the final say on who wins the White House on November 4th.
The Arizona senator accused Obama of planning to raise taxes and disperse wealth
as he sees fit. McCain also questioned whether the first-term senator is ready
to lead the country.
In Virginia, Senator Obama met with his national security advisors, saying he
did so because the next president must closely monitor foreign affairs even
while working to resolve the country's economic crisis. The Illinois senator
said it is important to "be vigilant," especially during the
transition from one administration to another.
Obama also defended his tax policy, which the McCain campaign has likened to
socialism. Obama countered that his plan proposes to cut taxes for 95 percent
working families and small businesses. He said the "socialism" charge
is a sign that McCain has run out of ideas.
