일본에서 중국산 냉동콩의 안전성에 대해 우려가 제기된 가운데, 중국 정부가 해당 제품 검사 결과 살충제 성분이 나오지 않았다고 밝혔습니다.
앞서 일본에서는 한 여성이 중국산 냉동콩을 먹고 중독 증세를 보였습니다. 일본 보건 당국은 해당 제품에서 정부 기준허용치의 3만4천배에 달하는 살충제 성분이 나왔다는 발표와 함께, 판매 금지 조치를 내렸습니다.
하지만 중국 관영 신화통신은 17일 보도를 통해, 중국 보건당국이
해당 제품에 대한 표본 검사를 실시했으며 살충제 성분이 검출되지 않았다고 보도했습니다.
중국에서는 최근 멜라민이 들어있는 분유와 유제품을 먹은 어린이 5만3천명이 중독 증상을 보였으며, 이 중 4명이 숨졌습니다. 이에 따라 전세계적으로 중국산 식품의 안전성에 대한 우려가 증가하고 있습니다.

Chinese authorities say they have found no traces of pesticide in frozen beans suspected of sickening a Japanese woman.
Japan ordered the Chinese food product removed from store shelves after suspecting the woman was poisoned by a highly toxic insecticide found in the packet of string beans she had eaten. Japanese authorities say the frozen beans had more than 34-thousand times the pesticide level permitted by the government.
But China's official Xinhua agency today (Thursday) reported that Chinese tests carried out on product samples showed no residue of the insecticide, dichlorvos.
The report also says Chinese authorities found no irregularities in the production and processing of the beans at a factory in Shandong province.
Concerns about China's food safety have grown worldwide after milk tainted with the industrial chemical melamine sickened more than 53-thousand Chinese children and is suspected of causing the death of four.
