당국은 연합군이 지난 5일 자불 지역의 칼라트 지구에서 아프간 반군과 전투를 벌였다고 밝혔습니다.
미군 당국은 반군이 여러지점에 저격수를 배치하고 기관총과 중화기로 연합군에 기습공격을 가했다고 전했습니다.
연합군은 소형무기와 로케트 추진 수류탄으로 이에 대항하고 공군의 지원을 요청했다는 것이 미 당국의 설명입니다.
이번 전투에서 아프간군과 연합군 사상자는 발생하지 않은 것으로 알려졌습니다.

The U.S.-led coalition says its
forces have killed 43 militants in southern Afghanistan.
In a statement today (Tuesday), the coalition said Afghan and U.S.-led
troops battled the militants Sunday in the Qalat district of Zabul province.
The U.S. military says a joint patrol was ambushed with sniper fire, machine
guns and heavy weapons from militants in multiple locations.
The coalition says its forces fired back with small arms and rocket-propelled
grenades. They also called in air support.
U.S. officials say no Afghan or U.S.-led troops were killed or wounded in the
attack.
Separately, German Chancellor Angela Merkel's Cabinet has agreed to extend
Germany's military mission in Afghanistan for another 14 months, until December
of next year.
The Cabinet today also decided to increase the number of German troops serving
in Afghanistan by one thousand, to a total of 45-hundred.
The measures require parliamentary approval.
