러시아가 남오세티아 근처의 검문소를 해체하는 것을 목격했다고 그루지아 내 유럽연합 감시단이 밝혔습니다.
러시아는 프랑스가 중재한 정전협정에 따라 오는 10일까지 그루지아 내 두 곳의 보안 지역에서 철군을 약속한 바 있습니다.
러시아 군은 앞서의 입장을 변경해 지난 1일 유럽연합 감시단이 남 오세티아 주변의 완충지대에 들어오는 것을 허용했습니다.
러시아는 지난달 30일 이들 감시단이 남 오세티아 주변의 완충지대와 그루지아 내 압하스 자치공화국에 진입하는 것을 금지할 것이라고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
러시아는 지난 8월 초 그루지아가 친 러시아 성향의 남 오세티아 자치공화국에 대한 군사공격을 감행하자 그루지아를 침공했습니다.
프랑스 중재의 정전협정에 따라 2백명 이상의 유럽연합 평화 감시단이 1일부터 임무를 시작했습니다.

European Union cease-fire monitors
say Russian forces in Georgia have begun dismantling a checkpoint near the
breakaway region of South Ossetia.
Russian troops were also seen today (Sunday) preparing to leave several
other checkpoints in the Russian-declared buffer zone.
The Russian government has promised to leave undisputed Georgian territory by
Friday, under a cease-fire agreement brokered last month by France. The
Georgian Interior Ministry today confirmed the removal of the checkpoints at
two towns (Nadarbazevi and Ali).
Russian forces swept into Georgia in early August, after Georgia launched
military strikes against separatists in pro-Russian South Ossetia. Moscow has
since recognized the territory, and a second breakaway region, Abkhazia, as
independent states, despite strong criticism from Western governments.
Some 200 EU monitors began their mission Wednesday, as part of the cease-fire
deal.
