유럽연합은 어제 발표한 성명에서 이란의 상황이 심상치 않다며 이같이 밝혔습니다. 성명은 이란이 부인하고는 있지만 이란이 과거 핵무기 개발계획을 가지고 있었던 것으로 보인다고 지적했습니다.
성명은 이란 정부가 이란의 핵개발계획에 대한 유엔 차원의 조사를 막고 있어 이같은 의심을 키우고 있다고 덧붙였습니다.

The European Union says Iran is getting closer to having the nuclear
materials needed to make an atomic bomb if it chose to do so.
The 27-nation EU called the situation in Iran "alarming" in a
statement read out Wednesday in Vienna by the French ambassador to the U.N.
nuclear agency (Francois-Xavier Deniau). France holds the rotating EU
presidency.
The EU statement also says it appears that Iran had a past nuclear weapons
program, despite Iranian denials. The EU says its suspicions have been been
reinforced by Iran's blockage of a U.N. investigation into the Iranian nuclear
program.
In another statement in Vienna, France, Germany and Britain said the
International Atomic Energy Agency's latest report on Iran presents a
"decidedly bleak picture."
Iranian Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh reiterated Wednesday that
allegations of Iranian nuclear weapons research are fabricated. He says Iran
considers the IAEA's investigation into the allegations as over.
