탈레반 소속으로 추정되는 무장요원들이 아프가니스탄 서부지역에서 1백40명의 근로자를 납치했다고 아프간 당국이 밝혔습니다.
당국은 이들 근로자들이 21일 파라주에서 버스 3대에 나눠 타고 이동하던 중 납치됐다고 설명했습니다. 이들은 파라주에서 군 기지를 구축하고 있던 것으로 전해졌습니다.
로훌 아민 파라 주지사는 부족 원로들이 근로자들의 석방을 위해 협상을 진행중이라고 말했습니다.
한편 아프가니스탄 주둔 북대서양조약기구, 나토군 당국은 아프간 남부에서 길가에 매설된 폭탄이 폭발해 어린이 한 명을 포함해 6명의 민간인이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다. 현지 경찰은 이 사건의 주범으로 역시 탈레반을 지목하고 있습니다.

authorities say suspected Taliban militants have kidnapped more than 140
laborers in the western part of the country.
Officials said the workers were captured Sunday in Farah province while
traveling in three buses. The laborers were involved in building an army base
in the province.
Provincial Governor Rohul Amin said tribal elders are negotiating to secure the
workers' release.
In a separate development, NATO officials in Afghanistan say six civilians --
including at least one child -- were killed when their vehicle hit a roadside
bomb in the country's south.
Authorities say the group was on the road near Tirin Kot, the capital of
Uruzgan province, when the explosion occurred. Four others were wounded in
today's (Monday's)attack.
The provincial police chief has blamed Taliban militants for the blast.
