집권 '국민의 힘' 당은 당초 사막 전 총리를 신임 총리 후보로 지명했으나, 연립정부에 참여하고 있는 다른 정당들의 반대가 있자 사막 전 총리가 스스로 후보에서 사퇴했다고 밝혔습니다. 사막 전 총리는 '국민의 힘'당 총재직에서도 물러날 계획인 것으로 알려졌습니다.
태국 의회는 당초 오늘 신임 총리 선출을 위한 투표를 실시할 예정이었으나, 연립 정부 소속의 일부 의원들이 태국의 정국 위기를 치유하기에는 사막 전 총리가 너무나 논란이 많은 인물이라며 오늘 투표를 거부 했습니다.
1'국민의 힘'당은 현재 총리 후보로 세 명이 명단에 올라 있으며, 이 가운데 한 명을 총리 후보로 추대할 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 태국 의회는 신임 총리를 뽑는 투표를 오는 17일로 연기했습니다.

Thailand's ruling party says it will not renominate ousted Prime Minister Samak

Officials in the ruling People's Power Party say (today / Friday)Mr.
Samak has withdrawn his name following objections from other parties in the
ruling coalition.
An aide to Mr. Samak says he also plans to quit as leader of the PPP.
A vote was originally supposed to be held today to re-elect Mr. Samak, but some
members of the ruling coalition were concerned that he was too controversial to
repair Thailand's current political crisis.
The PPP says it has short-listed three party members, and that it will nominate
one of the three for the prime minister's post. A vote to elect the prime
minister is expected to be held next Wednesday.
On Thursday, the PPP had made the controversial decision of renominating Mr.
Samak just days after a Thai Constitutional Court stripped him of his post for
hosting a television cooking show while in office.
