러시아 정부는 폴란드에 미국의 미사일 방어체계가 배치되는 데 반대한다고, 세르게이 라브로프 러시아 외무장관이 거듭 밝혔습니다.
라브로프 장관은 11일 폴란드 바르샤바에서 도날드 터스크 폴란드 총리와 만난 뒤 이같이 말했습니다. 라브로프 장관은 폴란드로부터는 어떠한 위협도 느끼지 않고 있지만, 소위 미사일 방어체계를 구축한다는 미국의 계획은 중대한 안보 위협으로 여기고 있다고 말했습니다.
한편 라덱 시코스키 폴란드 외무장관은 신뢰 구축을 위한 방안을 촉구했으며, 앞으로 러시아의 우려가 사라지기를 희망한다고 말했습니다.
라브로프 장관은 앞서 폴란드 신문과의 인터뷰에서 폴란드 정부는 미국의 미사일 방어체계 배치에 따른 결과를 완전히 인식하지 못하는 것 같다고 말했습니다. 러시아 정부는 앞서 자국 국경 인근에 대한 서방측의 군사력 배치를 더 이상 용인하지 않을 것이라고 여러차례 경고했습니다.
미국은 폴란드에 10기의 유도미사일을 배치하고, 체코 공화국에는 유도 레이더 기지를 설치한다는 계획입니다.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has reaffirmed Moscow's opposition to the deployment of a U.S. missile defense system in Poland.
Lavrov spoke today (Thursday) in Warsaw, after talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The Russian foreign minister said Moscow sees no threat from Poland itself, but says his government sees a significant security risk in the U.S. plans for the so-called missile shield.
Lavrov's Polish counterpart, Radek Sikorski, urged confidence-building measures, and expressed hope Russia's fears will fade with the passage of time
Earlier today, in a Polish newspaper interview, Lavrov speculated that Poland may not be fully aware of the consequences of approving the U.S. missile shield. Russia has issued a series of warnings that it will not tolerate any further Western military presence near its borders.
The United States plans to deploy 10 missile interceptors on Polish soil and guidance radar in the Czech Republic.
