탁신 치나왓 전 태국 총리의 송환을 요구하는 천여명의 시민들이 태국 수도 방콕의 외무부 청사 밖에서 시위를 벌였습니다. 시위대는 탁신 전 총리와 부인이 태국에 돌아와 부정부패 사건과 관련된 재판을 받으라고 요구했습니다.
탁신 부부는 현재 태국 외교 여권을 소지하고 여행중이나, 시위대는 이 여권도 즉각 박탈하라고 요구했습니다.
이번 시위는 태국 국왕을 지지하는 '국민 민주주의 연대'가 주동한 것으로. 시위대는 국왕을 지지한다는 표시로 노란색 상의를 입고 '지명 수배'라고 씌여진 탁신 부부의 사진을 들고 나왔습니다.
현재 각종 부패 혐의 관련 재판을 앞두고 있는 탁신 부부는 이달초 영국으로 도피했습니다.

About one-thousand people have rallied outside Thailand's Ministry of Foreign
Affairs in Bangkok, demanding deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his
wife be returned to the country to face corruption charges.
The two are traveling on Thai diplomatic passports which the protesters said
should be immediately revoked.
The protesters were mainly from the pro-royalist People's Alliance for
Democracy. They wore yellow shirts to show support for Thailand's king, and
many carried pictures of the former prime minister and first lady with
"most wanted" on them.
Mr. Thaksin and his wife Pojaman fled to Britian in early August. They own
property there including the Manchester City Football Club.
