길라니 총리는 기자들에게 파키스탄은 극단주의자들과 테러리스트들에게 맞서싸울 준비가 돼 있으며, 미국과의 관계를 더욱향상시키고자 한다고 덧붙였습니다.

U.S. President George Bush says he
discussed with visiting Pakistani prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani areas of
concern including fighting extremists and securing the Afghan border.
Mr. Bush and Mr. Gilani held talks at the White House today (Monday).
Mr. Bush described Pakistan as a strong ally with a vibrant democracy.
He said he and Mr. Gilani discussed the common threat of extremists that both
their countries face and the need to secure Pakistan's border with Afghanistan
as best as possible.
The United States wants Pakistan to do more to stop Taliban and al-Qaida
extremists who are using Pakistan to launch attacks on Afghan and U.S. soldiers
in neighboring Afghanistan.
Mr. Gilani told reporters that his country is committed to fighting extremists
and terrorists. He said his country would like to further improve relations
with the United States.
