연합군은 카디시야 지방의 시아파 장악 지역을 이 날 열린 행사에서 양도했습니다.
이 지역은 지난 2003년 미군의 개입한 18개 지방 중 이라크로 통치권을 양도한 10번째 지역입니다.
한편, 미군은 연합군이 바그다드와 모술에서 전개한 작전 도중 테러용의자 16명을 억류했다고 밝혔습니다.

U.S.-led coalition forces in Iraq have handed the Iraqi government control of a province south of Baghdad.
The coalition transferred control of the mostly Shi'ite province of Qadisiyah during a ceremony today (Wednesday).
The province is the 10th of 18 provinces to return to Iraqi control since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
In other news, the U.S. military says coalition forces detained 16 suspected terrorists during operations in Baghdad and Mosul.
