수백 명의 시위자들은 6일 선진 8개국, G 8 정상회담이 열리는 곳에서 멀지 않은 일본의 사포르에서 이틀째 시위를 벌였습니다.
시위자들은 기후 변화에 대한 빠른 대응부터 선진 8개국들이 세계 기아를 해결해 줄 것을 요청하는 등 다양한 요구 사항을 내놓았습니다.
하루 전인 5일 더 큰 규모의 시위에 이어 벌어진 이 날 시위는 대부분 평화적으로 진행됐습니다. 일본 관리들은5일 경찰과의 짧은 충돌로 텔레비전 카메라 요원을 포함해 4명이 체포됐다고 밝혔습니다.
일본은 평화와 안전을 위해 회담장과 일본 전역에 경찰 2만명 이상을 배치했습니다.
과거 G 8 정상회담은 폭력적인 반세계화 활동가들의 표적이 됐었습니다. 지난 해 독일에서 열린 G 8 정상회담에서는 수만명의 시위자들이 나타나 일부는 화염병을 던져 경찰과 충돌했었습니다.

Hundreds of protesters have gathered for a second straight day in Sapporo, Japan, not far from the site of this week's summit of the world's richest nations.
Protesters are making a variety of demands, from quicker action on climate change and world hunger to calls for the Group of Eight to be dissolved.
Today's (Sunday's) mostly peaceful demonstration followed larger, protests Saturday. Japanese officials say four people, including a television cameraman, were detained Saturday after a brief clash with police.
Japan has mobilized more than 20-thousand police officers to maintain peace and security at the summit and around the country.
Past G-8 summits have been targeted by violent, anti-globalization activists.
Tens of thousands of protesters showed up at last year's summit in Germany, some throwing Molotov cocktails and clashing with police.
