네팔 경찰이 반 중국 시위를 벌이며 티벳으로 향하던 티벳인 42명을 체포했다고 밝혔습니다.
대부분 불교 승려와 비구니들로 구성된 시위대는 1일 네팔과 중국 접경지역으로 부터 약 11 킬로미터 떨어진 곳에서 도로를 차단한 경찰에 의해 체포됐습니다.
시위대는 경찰에 발각되지 않도록 주요 도로를 피해 외진 산길을 따라 일주일간 도보행군을 계속했습니다.
티벳 망명자들은 티벳 시위대와 중국 당국간 유혈 충돌이 발발한 지난 3월부터 반 중국 시위를 벌여왔습니다.

Nepalese police say they have detained 42 Tibetan protesters who were trying to trek back to their homeland.
The protesters, most of them Buddhist monks and nuns, were arrested today (Tuesday), roughly 11 kilometers from the Nepal-China border, after police blocked the road.
The group had avoided main roads for the most part and instead walked for nearly a week along remote mountain trails, to avoid being detected by police.
Tibetan exiles have been holding anti-China demonstrations since March when deadly clashes broke out between protesters and Chinese authorities in Tibet.
Nepal, which regards Tibet as part of China, is home to some 20-thousand Tibetan refugees.
