장 핑 위원장은 이집트의 샤름 엘 쉐이크흐에서 오늘 열린 11차 아프리카 연합 정상회의 개막식에서 이같이 밝혔습니다. 이번 정상회의에는 짐바브웨의 로버트 무가베 대통령도 참석했습니다.
무가베 대통령은 단독 후보로 나선 대통령 선거 결선 투표에서 승리를 선언한지 하루만에 아프리카 연합 정상 회의에 참석했습니다.
국제사회는 짐바브웨의 이번 투표를 사기극이라고 비난하고 있으며, 아프리카 연합 감시단도 이번 투표가 아프리카 연합의 민주적 기준에 미달했다고 오늘 밝혔습니다.
반기문 유엔 사무총장은 짐바브웨의 이번 투표는 심각한 결함이 있다며 무가베 대통령과 야당측이 협상에 나설 것을 촉구하는 성명을 발표했습니다.
미국의 콘돌리자 라이스 국무장관은 유엔 안전보장이사회가 짐바브웨 문제를 적극적으로 다뤄, 성명 발표 이상의 조치를 취할 것을 요청했습니다.

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is getting a warm welcome at the African Union summit in Egypt, despite international concerns about the legitimacy of his re-election.
Mr. Mugabe walked into the main conference hall today flanked by the host, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, who holds the rotating AU presidency.
Many international leaders have dismissed Friday's presidential run-off in Zimbabwe as a sham, and African Union election monitors said today the election fell short of the group's democratic standards.
But AU leaders have so far avoided direct criticism of Mr. Mugabe. In remarks in the summit's opening session, the Tanzanian president spoke only of "challenges" in Zimbabwe, while AU Commission Chairman Jean Ping said Africa must do "everything in its power" to help Zimbabwe resolve its political conflict.
Several African countries are known to be pressing behind the scenes for a strong statement condemning the run-off.
