중국 공산당 중앙위원회 대만공작판공실의 천윈린 주임은 마잉주 총통이 취임한지 이틀밖에 지나지 않았으나 이미 타이완과의 화해를 위한 긍정적인 노력이 진행되고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
첸 수이볜 전 총통의 뒤를 이어 집권한 마잉주 총통은 국민당 소속으로 중국과의 경제관계 강화를 지지하고 있습니다. 마잉주 총통은 지난 20일 취임사에서 중국과의 관계 강화와 지역 안정을 추구하겠다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.

China's minister of Taiwan affairs says his country is making efforts to resume negotiations and dialogue following the election of Ma Ying-jeou as Taiwan's new president.
Chen Yunlin said today (Thursday) there had already been positive efforts at reconciliation just two days after Mr. Ma was sworn in.
Mr. Ma, who replaced President Chen Shui-bian, is a member of the Nationalist Party, which supports stronger business and transportation ties with China.
In his inaugural address on Tuesday, Mr. Ma said he would pursue cross-Strait ties and regional stability.
Since the March election, hopes have run high in Taiwan that Taipei and Beijing may be able to put aside their political differences and boost economic ties.
