Pakistan's ruling coalition government is to hold a final round of talks in Dubai ahead of a Wednesday deadline to reinstate judges ousted under President Pervez Musharraf.
Coalition leaders Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are expected to meet Wednesday in the Gulf emirate in a last-ditch effort to break a political deadlock on the issue.
Mr. Sharif, of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz party, and Zardari, the leader of the Pakistan People's Party, had set an April 30th deadline to reach an agreement.
But the two sides have failed in recent talks to resolve differences on how to restore the judges. The PPP wants to link reinstatement of the judges to constitutional reforms, while Mr. Sharif wants them reinstated unconditionally.
