짐바브웨의 고등법원은 지난달 치뤄진 총선 결과의 부분적인 재검표가 중단돼야 한다는 야당의 요구를 거부했습니다.
안토니오 구바바 판사는 18일 야당 민주변화동맹 MDC의 탄원을 “가치가 없다”며 기각했습니다.
짐바브웨의 선거관리위원회는 23개 선거구에서의 대통령, 의회, 지방 의회 선거 결과를 재검표할 계획입니다. 19일로 예정된 재검표는 야당이 지난달 총선 이후 차지한 의회 다수당 위치를 박탈할 수 있습니다.
고등법원의 이같은 판결이 발표된 날, 로버트 무가베 대통령은 총선이후 처음으로 연설을 했습니다.
무가베 대통령은 연설에서 야당이 짐바브웨를 영국 식민지 시절로 되돌리려 하고 있다고 비난했습니다.
민주변화동맹은 모건 츠방기라이 야당 후보가 3월 29일 대선에서 무가베 현 대통령을 누르고 승리했다고 주장하고 있습니다. 국제사회의 압력에도 불구하고 짐바브웨의 선관위는 아직도 공식 대선 결과를 발표하지 않고 있습니다.

Zimbabwe's High Court has rejected a demand from the opposition that it stop a partial recount of results from last month's disputed general elections.
Judge Antonio Guvava today dismissed the petition from the opposition Movement for Democratic Change, saying it has "no merit."
Zimbabwe's electoral commission now plans to conduct a recount of presidential, parliamentary, and local council votes from 23 constituencies. The recount, set for Saturday, could strip the MDC of the control of parliament it won last month.
The court issued the ruling on Zimbabwe's independence day, which President Robert Mugabe marked with his first major speech since the elections.
In a fiery address, Mr. Mugabe accused the opposition of wanting to return Zimbabwe to British rule.
The MDC says its candidate Morgan Tsvangirai defeated Mr. Mugabe in the March 29th election. Despite intense international pressure, Zimbabwe's election commission has still not released official results from the presidential ballot.
