두 달 전 이라크의 남부도시 바스라에서 납치됐던 영국인 기자가 구출되었다고 이라크 군당국이 밝혔습니다.
이라크 군당국은 이라크 군이 14일 바스라를 급습해 리처드 버틀러씨를 구출했다고 밝혔습니다.
미국의 CBS 방송에서 근무하던 버틀러씨는 지난 2월초 바스라의 한 호텔에서 통역관과 함께 정체불명의
무장 괴한들에 의해 납치됐었습니다.
한편 14일 이라크의 수도 바그다드에서 경찰 순찰대를 노린 길거리 폭탄이 터져 적어도 5명이 사망하고 9 명이 다쳤습니다.

Iraqi military officials say a British journalist kidnapped two months ago in the southern city of Basra has been freed.
The officials said Iraqi troops rescued Richard Butler in a raid in Basra today (Monday).
Butler had been on assignment for the U.S. network CBS when unidentified gunmen seized him and his interpreter from a Basra hotel in early February. The interpreter was later released.
Earlier today, Iraqi police said a roadside bomb killed at least five people and wounded nine others in central Baghdad.
In Damascus, Syria, Iraq's six neighbors agreed to work together to try to stabilize Iraq. The countries wrapped up two days of talks today on ways to fight terrorism and improve security in Iraq.
