짐바브웨 야당인 민주변화운동당은 앞서 당 후보인 모간 창기라이 총재가 이번 대선에서 승리했다고 주장한데 이어 이제는 무가베 대통령이 쿠데타를 준비하고 있다는 입장입니다. 텐다이 비티 당 사무총장은 짐바브웨 군부가 쿠데타를 선동하고 있다고 주장했습니다.
비티 사무총장은 “군부가 권력을 장악함에 따라 일부 권력자들은 조직상의 쿠데타가 일어나고 있다고 말하고 있다”고 전했습니다. 따라서 이번 회의는 그만큼 매우 중요하다는 것입니다.
음베키 대통령은 공식 선거 결과가 나올때 까지 결과를 단언하는 것을 피했습니다.

Southern African leaders are holding an emergency summit Saturday to discuss Zimbabwe's political crisis two weeks after presidential elections that have produced no official results.
Zimbabwean state media said Friday that President Robert Mugabe will not attend the conference in Zambia.
The United States urged southern African countries Friday to take a firm stand for democracy at the summit.
A U.S. State Department spokesman, Sean McCormack, said leaders from the Southern Africa Development Community should demand Zimbabwe's electoral commission release results from the March 29 election without delay.
He also said leaders should speak out against what he called credible reports of government violence and intimidation against opposition supporters.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Friday he is appalled by signs that Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe is using violence in the wake of the elections.
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon warned that the situation in Zimbabwe could deteriorate unless the impasse was resolved soon. He also congratulated southern African leaders for holding today's summit.
Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai is planning to be at the conference.
Tsvangirai's opposition Movement for Democratic Change says he defeated President Robert Mugabe in the presidential election. The party says it won the election "hands down" and will not take part in a run-off.
Independent tallies suggest President Mugabe lost, but that a runoff will be needed because no one won more than 50 percent of the vote.
The MDC is calling for a rally Sunday to protest the lack of election results. It is also calling for a general strike to begin on Tuesday
Police announced a ban on rallies Friday, saying it would take effect immediately.
Mr. Tsvangirai has accused Zimbabwe's military leaders of deploying troops across the country to intimidate the population should a run-off take place. The opposition also said police arrested Mr. Tsvangirai's lawyer, Innocent Chagonda, when he demanded the release of a helicopter hired for the presidential campaign.
A Zimbabwean High Court judge, Tendai Uchena, has said he will rule Monday on an opposition appeal demanding the release of the election results.
