파키스탄에서 두 주요 야당 지도자들은 연립 정부를 구성하고 페르베즈 무샤라프 대통령에 의해 해고된 고위 판사들을 복권시키기로 합의했습니다.
암살당한 야당 지도자 베나지르 부토의 남편인 아시프 알리 자르다리 씨와 나와즈 샤리프 전 총리는 파키스탄 수도 이슬라마바드 부근에서 회담을 가진 뒤인 9일 이같은 합의를 발표했습니다.
부토 전총리 소속의 파키스탄 인민당, PPP와 샤리프 전총리 소속의 파키스탄 무슬림 리그는 지난 달 총선에서 1위와 2위로 각각 승리했습니다.
이들 지도자는 9일 지난 11월에 무샤라프가 해임시킨 판사들을 복권시키기 위해 의회가 앞으로 한달 안에 표결에 들어갈 것이라고 말했습니다. 해임된 판사들은 무샤라프 대통령이 육군참모총장직을 겸임하는 가운데 재선되는 것에 반대한 것으로 알려졌습니다.
한편 이슬라마바드에서는 이들 판사들의 복권을 요구하는 수백명의 법조계 인사들의 시위를 해산시키기 위해 경찰은 최루탄을 발사했습니다.

The leaders of Pakistan's two main opposition parties have agreed to form a coalition government, and reinstate senior judges who were fired by President Pervez Musharraf.
Asif Ali Zardari -- the husband of slain opposition leader Benazir Bhutto -- and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced the agreement today (Sunday) following talks outside the capital, Islamabad.
Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Mr. Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) finished first and second in Pakistan's general elections last month.
The leaders said today that parliament will vote within a month to restore the judges Mr. Musharraf dismissed in November. The judges were seen as hostile to Mr. Musharraf's re-election as president.
In the capital today, police used tear gas to disperse hundreds of lawyers demonstrating for the judges' reinstatement.
