일명 두치로 불리는 카잉 구엑 에바는 27일 캄보디아의 수도 프놈펜의 악명 높았던 투올 슬랭 감옥으로 유엔 전범재판소 관계자들을 안내했습니다.
65살의 두치는 이 자리에서 자신이 지휘한 고문과 살인에 관해 설명한 것으로 알려졌습니다. 앞서 지난 26일 전범재판소 관계자들을 안내해 프놈펜 외곽의 죄수 처형장에 도착한 두치는 참회의 눈물을 흘렸습니다.
어린이와 여성을 포함한 1만4천명의 캄보디아인들이 지난 1970년대 투올 슬랭 감옥에서 살해된 것으로 추정되고 있습니다.

Kaing Guek Eav, also known as Duch, led judges with a United Nations-backed tribunal on a tour of the infamous Tuol Sleng prison today (Wednesday) in the capital of Phnom Penh. The 65-year-old jailer is expected to describe how he directed the gruesome operations at the former school.
An estimated 14-thousand Cambodian men, women and children were imprisoned, tortured and killed at Tuol Sleng, also known as S-21. Only a few people are believed to have survived the ordeal.
