미군과 이라크군 관계자들은 이달 초 바그다드에서 알-카에다가 2명의 여자 정신장애자들에게 폭탄을 몸에 두르게 한 후 원격조정으로 터뜨려 약 100여명을 숨지게 했다고 비난했습니다.
북부 바그다드의 무크다디야의 한 시장에서 20일, 자살폭탄공격범이 폭탄을 터뜨려 최소 7명이 숨지고 15명이 다쳤습니다.
미군은 19일, 바그다드 북쪽 발라드부근의 한 미군기지에 대한 무장세력의 박격포 공격으로 인근에서 놀고 있던 3명의 어린이들이 다쳤다고 밝혔습니다.

Iraq's Interior Ministry says it has ordered police to detain beggars, homeless and mentally disabled people from the streets of Baghdad to prevent insurgents from using them as unwitting suicide bombers.
An Interior Ministry spokesman (Major General Abdul-Karim Khalaf) says authorities launched the nationwide sweep Tuesday as part of the fight against al-Qaida in Iraq militants. He says police intend to transfer the detainees to social welfare shelters and hospitals that can care for them.
U.S. and Iraqi officials have accused al-Qaida of detonating explosives strapped to two mentally-disabled women in an attack in Baghdad that killed nearly 100 people earlier this month.
In violence today (Wednesday), a suicide bomber killed at least seven people and wounded 15 in a market in the town of Muqdadiya (north of Baghdad).
Also, the U.S. military said a mortar attack on a U.S. base in Iraq (near Balad, north of the capital) Tuesday killed three children and injured seven others playing nearby.
