Iran's ambassador to Russia says Iran has started building a second nuclear plant.
Ambassador Gholamreza Ansari told Russian reporters in Moscow today (Friday) that Iran is now considering ways to fuel the plant.
Iran has been building its first nuclear power plant near the southern city of Bushehr. Officials say Russia has delivered enough nuclear fuel to run that plant, and that the facility will open later this year.
Iran says it is developing nuclear technology to generate electricity, but Western countries are concerned that Iran is building nuclear weapons.
At the news conference today, Ansari said Iran is trying to ease Russia's concerns about its recent test launch of a rocket. He said Iran is trying to explain to Russia that its space program will be used to study climate conditions in Iran, not for military purposes.
