세르비아에서는 친 서방의 보리스 타디치 현 대통령과 민족주의자인 토미슬라프 니콜리치 후보가 팽팽히 대결하는 대통령 선거가 실시되고 있습니다.
선거 관계관들은 13일 투표가 시작된 지 7시간이 지난 현재 6백 70여 만명의 전체 유권자 가운데 34% 가량이 투표를 마쳤다고 전했습니다.
유권자들은 유럽연합 지원의 경제적 번영을 공약으로 내세운 타디치 현 대통령과 전통적으로 세르비아 우방인 러시아와 보다 긴밀한 유대관계를 갖길 원하는 니콜리치 후보 가운데 한 사람을 선출하게 됩니다. 이들 두 후보는 모두 코소보주의 독립에 반대하고 있습니다.
니콜리치 후보는 지난 달에 실시된 첫 대선에서 40%의 득표로 35%의 지지율을 얻은 타디치 대통령을 누르고 승리했습니다.
선거 이전에 실시된 여론 조사 결과들에서는 이번 결선 투표에서 타디치 대통령이 약간 앞설 것으로 나타났습니다. 하지만 세르비아의 정치 분석가들은 결선투표에서 두 후보가 치열한 접전을 벌일 것으로 내다봤습니다.

Serbian voters are casting ballots in a tight presidential election pitting pro-Western incumbent Boris Tadic against nationalist challenger Tomislav Nikolic.
Election officials say about 34 percent of the country's six-point-seven million eligible voters cast ballots in the first seven hours of polling today (Sunday). Polls close at 8 p.m. local time (1900 hours UTC).
Voters are choosing between Mr. Tadic, who campaigned on promises of European Union-backed prosperity, and Mr. Nikolic, who backs closer ties with traditional ally Russia. Both candidates oppose independence for the breakaway Kosovo province.
Mr. Nikolic won the first round of presidential balloting last month with 40 percent of the vote. Mr. Tadic earned 35 percent.
Pre-election surveys showed the incumbent holding a slight lead in the runoff. But Serbian political analysts said the race was too close to call.
