한편, 이스라엘 군은 최근 요르단강 서안지구의 검문소에서 폭발물과 로켓 제조에 이용될 수 있어 가자지구에서 금지된 화학물인 질산칼륨 6톤 인상을 적발했다고 29일 밝혔습니다.

Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has announced the arrest of suspects in the shooting deaths Friday of two off-duty Israeli soldiers.
Mr. Fayyad spoke to reporters near Tel Aviv Saturday after informing Israeli President Shimon Perez of the arrests. He extended his condolences to the families of the soldiers. Mr. Fayyad said the arrest of suspects in the case was proof of Palestinian commitment to improve security.
Palestinian gunmen opened fire Friday on three Israelis who were hiking near the city of Hebron. The Israelis returned fire, killing one of the Palestinians.
Mr. Fayyad said the suspects were in posession of weapons taken from the Israelis. He said the weapons had been turned over to the Israelis, and the investigation is continuing.
Separately, the Israeli military announced Saturday it had recently seized at a West Bank checkpoint more than six tons of potassium nitrate, a chemical banned in Gaza because of its use in the manufacturing of explosives and rockets.
