미국 당국자들은 10만명에 가까운 파키스탄 부족 지역 주둔 병사들은 샌달을 신고, 제1차 세계대전 당시에 쓰였던 헬멧, 제대로 작동하지 않는 무기를 갖고 있었다고 밝혔습니다.
'뉴욕타임즈'에 따르면 한 소식통은 미국의 수백만달러의 지원금은 알카에다, 탈레반 무장세력이 아니라 인도에 대적하기 위한 무기 지원금으로 전용됐다고 밝혔습니다.
파키스탄 군 당국자들은 이같은 주장에 대해 부인했습니다.
