이라크 경찰은 24일 무장 괴한들이 바그다드 북부 디얄라 지방에서 매복했다 버스를 탈취하고 여성과 어린이 등 승객 14명을 납치했다고 밝혔습니다.
경찰에 따르면 괴한들은 가짜 검문소를 만들어 버스를 세웠습니다.
한편, 미군은 이 날 연합군이 이라크 중심과 북부 지역 알카에다 조직망을 겨냥한 작전을 수행해 무장세력 용의자 10명을 억류했다고 밝혔습니다.
성명에 따르면, 연합군은 바그다드에서 전개된 작전에서 외국인 테러분자와 무기수송 조직망 등과 연계된 것으로 보이는 용의자를 생포했습니다.
Iraqi police say gunmen have ambushed a bus in volatile Diyala province north of Baghdad, kidnapping 14 people on board, including women and children.
Police say the gunmen stopped the bus today (Monday) at a fake checkpoint.
In other news, the U.S. military says coalition forces detained 10 suspected terrorists today during operations targeting al-Qaida networks in central and northern Iraq.
A statement says during operations in Baghdad, coalition forces captured a suspect believed linked to a foreign terrorist and weapons facilitation network, and another suspect believed to be an Ansar al-Islam leader involved in media and propaganda operations.
Ansar al-Islam is a radical Islamic group based in Iraq.
