인터넷의 동영상 공유 사이트인 유튜브의 인기가 점점 높아가는 가운데 영국 왕실은 엘리자베스 2세 여왕이 국민에게 보내는 연례 크리스마스 축사를 유튜브에 올릴 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.
엘리자베스 여왕의 축하 메시지는 크리스마스날인 오는 25일 화요일 세계표준시로 15시경에 게시될 것이라고 영국 언론은 보도했습니다.
영국 왕실은 이미 유튜브에 영국왕실의 공식채널이란 이름으로 자체 사이트를 개설하고, 50년전 처음으로 전국에 방영됐던 1957년의 크리스마스 축사 등 과거 여왕의 축사모습을 담은 동영상 등을 게시했습니다.

Authorities in Britain say Queen Elizabeth intends to post her annual Christmas message to her subjects on the Internet for the first time, with a videotape on the YouTube website.
British media say the Queen's message will be on the video-sharing website at about 15 hours, Universal Time, on Christmas Day (Tuesday / December 25th).
Other glimpses of the British monarchy already are available on an area of the YouTube website (www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel) marked as "the official channel of the British monarchy." Videos of the queen's previous Christmas messages include her first annual broadcast on television as well as radio, 50 years ago.
