뉴욕타임스 신문은 CIA가 이번 달 알-카에다 대원 2명에 대한 심문 비디오 테이프를 파기했다고 인정한 후 위원회의 전직 위원들이 비밀 문서들을 검토했다고 보도했습니다.
검토 결과, 위원회가 2003년과 2004년에 심문과 관련된 정보에 대해 구체적으로 거듭 요청했으며, CIA 고위 당국자는 위원회가 요청한 모든 정보들이 제공됐음을 보증한 것으로 나타났다고, 뉴욕타임스는 전했습니다.
뉴욕타임스는 위원회의 전직 고위급 위원 한 사람이 보고서를 통해, CIA가 비디오테이프를 제출하지 않은 것이 연방 법률 위반에 해당되는지를 판단하기 위해서는 추가 조사가 필요하다는 결론을 내렸다고 보도했습니다.
그러나 CIA 대변인은 뉴욕타임스 신문에 위원회가 구체적으로 비디오 테이프를 요구한 적은 없다고 말했습니다.

A published report says the CIA may have withheld information about its interrogation of suspected al-Qaida terrorists from the panel created to investigate the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
"The New York Times" newspaper says former members of the panel reviewed classified documents after the CIA admitted earlier this month it had destroyed videotapes of its interrogations of two al-Qaida operatives.
The review shows the panel made repeated and detailed requests for information related to the interrogations in 2003 and 2004, and were assured by a top CIA official that it had received everything requested.
The "Times" says the commission's former executive director concluded in a report that further investigation is needed to determine if the CIA violated federal law by withholding the videotapes.
But a CIA spokesperson told the "Times" the panel never specifically asked for videos.
