6자회담 미국 측 수석대표인 크리스토퍼 힐 미국 국무부의 동아시아태평양 담당 차관보는 7일, 북한의 비핵화 작업이 순조롭게 진행되고 있고, 북한이 핵 프로그램 신고 초안을 연말까지 제출할 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다.
힐 차관보는 북한과 중국을 방문한 뒤 귀국길에 경유지인 일본 나리타 공항에서 6자 회담 일본측 수석대표인 사사에 겐이치로 일본 외무성 아시아,대양주 국장과 회동을 가진 뒤 기자들에게 이같이 말했습니다.
힐 차관보는 또, 북한의 핵 신고가 완전하고 정확하게 이뤄지도록 협의를 계속하고 있다고 말했습니다.
힐 차관보는 방북 당시인 1일 미국 부시 대통령이 김정일 국방위원장에게 보내는 친서를 전달했습니다.

The top U.S. nuclear envoy for North Korea says that country's dismantling of its nuclear program is on schedule.
Christopher Hill made the remarks today (Friday) in Tokyo. He traveled to Pyongyang earlier this week and delivered a personal letter from President Bush to North Korean leader Kim Jong Il.
In the letter, Mr. Bush urged North Korea to uphold its promise to declare all of its nuclear activities by the end of the year, in exchange for economic aid and other incentives.
Hill told reporters in Tokyo that negotiations are still under way to ensure that the North Korean declaration is as complete and correct as possible. He said he believes Pyongyang will be able to draft the statement by the end of this year.
