러시아 전역에서 유권자들은 블라디미르 푸틴 대통령의 통합 러시아 당이 선거 운동을 장악한 이후 2일 새로운 의회를 선출하기 위한 선거를 실시했습니다.
러시아 선거 관계관들은 1억 천만 명에 달하는 유권자들의 선거 참여율은 60%를 넘을 것이라고 말하고 있습니다.
야당들은 논란많은 새 선거법은 사실상 푸틴 대통령의 통합러시아 당이 450개 의석의 하원 국가 두마에서 과반수 이상을 차지하도록 보장하고 있다고 주장했습니다.
새 선거법에 따라 한 정당이 의회에 진출하기 위해서는 7% 이상의 득표율을 얻어야합니다. 하지만 선거 이전에 실시된 조사 결과들에서는 11개 정당 가운데 공산당과 통합 러시아 당등 오로지 두 정당 만이 그같은 문턱을 넘어설 것으로 나타났습니다.
비판가들 역시 통합 러시아 당 만이 전국 텔레비전 방송을 통해 선거 운동을 하도록 허용됐다고 강조하고 있습니다.

Voters across Russia are choosing a new parliament, after a campaign dominated by President Vladimir Putin's United Russia Party.
Russian elections officials reported brisk voting across the country's 11 time zones, and say turnout may surpass 60 percent of the country's nearly 110-million eligible voters. The last polling stations close in the Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad this (Sunday) evening (at 1800 UTC).
Opposition parties charged that controversial new election laws virtually guaranteed a majority for Mr. Putin's party in the 450-seat State Duma.
Under electoral rule changes, a party is required to win seven percent of the vote to gain entry to parliament. Pre-election surveys show that only two of 11 parties -- the communists and United Russia -- would reach that threshold.
Critics also note that "United Russia" was the only party allowed to campaign on national television.
