아랍 국가 총리들이 23일 이집트 카이로에서 회의을 열고 있습니다. 이들은 미국의 후원으로 다음주에 열리는 중동평화회담을 앞두고 공통의 입장을 조율하기 위해서 모였습니다.
미국은 오는 27일 워싱턴 인근 해안도시인 애나폴리스에서 회담을 연다는 계획입니다. 아랍연맹 소속인 이들 총리들은 회담 참석 여부도 결정할 계획입니다.
현재까지 이슬람 국가 중에는 이집트와 터키가 회담에 참석한다는 입장을 밝혔습니다.
호스니 무바라크 이집트 대통령은 22일 압둘라 요르단 국왕, 마흐무드 압바스 팔레스타인 대통령과 3자 정상회담을 갖고 이 문제에 관해 의견을 교환했습니다.
한편 이스마일 하니에 팔레스타인 전 총리는 미국의 중동평회담이 팔레스타인에 어떤 혜택도 주지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.

Arab foreign ministers are meeting today (Friday) in Cairo to form a unified position ahead of a U.S.-sponsored Middle East peace conference next week.
Participants in the Arab League meeting will also decide whether to accept invitations to the conference in the eastern U.S. city of Annapolis (near Washington).
Egypt and Turkey are the first two Muslim nations to confirm their participation in the November 27th conference.
On Thursday, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak held talks with the leaders of Jordan and the Palestinians to coordinate positions.
The meeting between Mr. Mubarak, Jordan's King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas took place in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
But deposed Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas called the conference "stillborn," saying it will not bring any benefits to the Palestinians.
