에후드 올메르트 이스라엘 총리에 대한 일련의 범죄행위 수사와 관련해 이스라엘 경찰이 11일 정부 사무실들을 전격 압수수색 했습니다.
미키 로센펠드 경찰청 대변인은 범죄 혐의 수사 차원에서 증거 확보를 위해 산업통상부와 우정국 들을 포함해 20여개 장소에 압수수색을 단행했다고 밝혔습니다.
올메르트 총리는 2005년 재무장관을 역임할 당시 자신의 친구가 정부 계약을 수주하도록 도운 혐의를 받고 있습니다.
올메르트 총리는 또 2004년 건설업자에게 건설 특혜를 대가로 자신의 예루살렘 집을 대폭 할인한 가격으로 구입한 혐의를 받고있습니다.
하지만 올메르트 총리는 모든 혐의를 부인하고 있습니다.

Israeli police raided government offices today (Sunday) as part of a series of criminal investigations into Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's conduct in a previous cabinet post.
A police spokesman (Micky Rosenfeld) says fraud investigators searched 20 locations, including the Industry and Trade Ministry and the Postal Authority, for potential evidence in connection to the probes. There were no immediate details on what evidence police are seeking.
The prime minister is suspected of trying to steer the sale of a government contract to a friend in 2005, when Mr. Olmert was serving as finance minister.
Mr. Olmert, a former Jerusalem mayor, is also under investigation for his purchase of a home in the city in 2004. The prime minister is accused of buying the home at a discounted price in exchange for helping the builder obtain construction permits from the city government.
The prime minister has denied any wrongdoing.
