타리크 아짐 파키스탄 정보부 차관은 이 날 기자들에게 파키스탄 정부는 거대 규모 집회와 행진을 금지하길 원한다고 밝혔었습니다.

Pakistan's opposition parties are rejecting a government proposal to ban political processions, after last Thursday's attacks on former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's motorcade.
Members of Ms. Bhutto's Pakistan's People's Party today (Monday) said a ban would be unacceptable because rallies are important to the election process. They also said the ban idea has nothing to do with improving security.
Pakistan's Deputy Information Minister Tariq Azeem told reporters earlier today (Monday) the government wants to ban large rallies and processions. He said small political meetings should be held at specific places under tight security.
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and members of Islamist groups also expressed concern about the proposed ban today (Monday), saying the government does not want opposition leaders reaching out to their voters.
Analysts say curtailing campaigning could hurt the credibility of general elections coming in January.
