인도와 파키스탄은 19일에는 핵 안전에 관한 협의를 벌이며, 22일에는 테러관련 정보를 교환하기 위해 설립된 대테러 합동위원회 회의도 열립니다.
인도와 파키스탄은 카시미르 지역에서 영토 분쟁을 벌이고 있지만, 2003년 11월 이후 정전 상태를 유지하고 있습니다. 하지만 이런 가운데서도 양국 정부가 각국의 극단주의 테러분자들을 지원했다는 비난도 심심치않게 제기돼 왔습니다.

India and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to a four-year-old ceasefire today (Thursday), after beginning a new series of talks as part of their slow-moving peace process.
A joint statement said a meeting between diplomats in the Indian capital, New Delhi, was constructive. It said the talks were designed to strengthen confidence-building between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Today's (Thursday's) talks will be followed on Friday by discussions on nuclear safeguards. Representatives from the two sides are set to meet again on Monday during the second meeting of a joint counter-terrorism panel formed to share intelliegence on militant activity.
India and Pakistan have observed a cease-fire since November 2003 along the Line of Control that divides the disputed region of Kashmir. Two of their three wars have been fought over Kashimir.
Despite a cooling of tensions, the two countries occasionally trade accusations on supporting extremists operating on both sides of their shared border.
