대선을 앞두고 무샤라프 대통령은 정적인 부토 전 총리와 권력 배분 방안을 논의했습니다.
이러한 합의의 순조로운 이행을 위해 지난 주에 무샤라프 대통령은 부토 전 총리를 포함해 일부 정치인들을 사면했습니다.
사면된 부토 전 총리는, 부패 혐의로 체포 당할 염려 없이 고국에 돌아갈 수 있게 되었습니다.

The party of Pakistan's former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, has rejected a call from President Pervez Musharraf to delay her return from exile, insisting she will land in Pakistan as planned next week.
Wednesday, Mr. Musharraf urged Ms. Bhutto to postpone her return until the Supreme Court rules on the legality of his landslide victory in Saturday's controversial presidential elections.
A spokesman for Ms. Bhutto says she will return from self-imposed exile as scheduled on October 18th. President Musharraf and Ms. Bhutto have been in talks on a possible power-sharing deal.
Last week, General Musharraf granted amnesty to Ms. Bhutto and other politicians, clearing the way for such an agreement.
The amnesty will allow Ms. Bhutto, who is charged with corruption, to return to Pakistan without fear of being arrested.
