승려들은 태국 국경지역에서 가진 ‘미국의 소리’ 방송과의 인터뷰에서 변화는 오로지 내부로부터 가능하다며, 다시 버마로 돌아가 민주화 시위를 계속 할 것이라고 말했습니다.
3백여명의 승려들은 태국과 국경을 마주한 미아와디의 군경 차단대를 피하는 등 어려운 여정을 통해 태국 안전지대로 탈출했었습니다.
