이라크에서 4일 발생한 폭탄 테러로 13명이 숨졌다고 이라크 당국이 밝혔습니다. 숨진 희생자 중에는 이라크 남부의 시아파 시장과, 알카에다에 맞서 싸우던 수니파 부족 지도자도 포함돼있습니다.
이라크 관리들에 따르면 바그다드 남부 이스칸다리야에서 발생한 폭탄테러로 시아파 시장 압바스 알-카파지와 경호원 4명이 숨졌습니다. 이스칸다리야는 시아파와 수니파가 함께 거주하는 지역입니다.
바그다드 북부 사마라에서는 이 지역 부족지도자인 회교성직자, 무아위야 즈바라씨와 경호원 3명이 폭탄 테러로 숨졌습니다.
바그다드 남부 자파라니야에서도 폭탄 테러로 4명이 숨지고 8명이 부상을 입었습니다.
한편 미군 당국은 이라크 의회 의원 한 명을 구금했다고 말했습니다. 미군에 따르면 이 의원은 최근 알카에다 회의에 참석한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

Iraqi authorities say bomb attacks have killed at least 13 people in Iraq today (Thursday), including the Shi'ite mayor of a southern city and a Sunni tribal leader who was fighting al-Qaida.
Officials say the mayor of Iskandariyah, Abbas al-Khafaji, and four of his bodyguards were killed by a bomb blast as he headed to work. Iskandariyah, south of Baghdad, has a mixed population of Sunni Arabs and Shi'ites.
North of Baghdad, Sheikh Muawiya Jbara of the Salahuddin Tribal Awakening Council died from injuries from a bomb attack in the Salahuddin province town of Samarra. At least three of his bodyguards were killed.
A separate car bombing in the southern Baghdad district of Zafaraniyah killed four people and wounded eight others.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military says an unidentified member of the Iraqi parliament is in U.S. custody after allegedly attending an al-Qaida meeting.
