인도네시아내 과격 회교단체 ‘히즈부트 타흐리르’ 지지자들이 오늘(12일) 수도 자카르타의 한 경기장에 모여 이슬람법 개정 촉구대회를 가졌습니다.

이 단체의 대변인은 연사로 초청한 영국과 호주 인사의 입국이 거부됐다며 단일 국가로는 세계 최대의 이슬람 인구를 보유한 인도네시아에 연사들이 입국하지 못한 이유가 무엇인지 명확하지 않다며 의문을 제기했습니다.
이 단체는 여러 나라에서 활동이 금지됐으나 자신들은 폭력을 옹호하지 않으며 테러를 용인하지도 않는다고 말하고 있습니다. 이날 행사는 평화적으로 열렸습니다.
Some 90-thousand supporters of a hardline Muslim group have packed a stadium in the Indonesian capital to rally for the creation of an Islamic state.
Members of Hizbut Tahrir chanted "God is great" today (Sunday) as speakers at the international conference called for the return to the Caliphate, or Islamic rule, across the Muslim world.
A spokesman for the group says two speakers from England and Australia were denied entry to Indonesia and deported upon landing in Jakarta. It is not clear why they were not allowed into the country, the world's most populous Muslim nation.
Although Hizbut Tahrir is banned in several countries, the group says it does not advocate violence or condone terrorism. Its events are generally peaceful.
