한국은 북핵 6자회담의 2. 13합의가 정한 북한의 핵시설 폐쇄, 봉인 조치에 대한 상응조치로 북한에 제공하는 중유 5만톤의 수송을 2주일내에 시작할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
남북은 29일부터 이틀간 개성 남북경제협력협의 사무소에서 대북 중유 5만톤 제공문제와 관련한 실무접촉을 갖고 이같이 합의했다고, 한국의 통일부가 오늘 밝혔습니다.
남북은 이번 실무접촉에서 남측이 유황 성분 2.5%인 중유 5만톤을 해로로 북측에 제공하기로 하고, 첫 배 출항은 인도, 인수 절차를 합의한 이날 이후 2주 이내의 빠른 시기에 하기로 합의했습니다.
한편, 국제원자력기구의 사찰단은 지난 2002년 추방된 후 처음으로 이번 주에 북한의 영변원자로를 방문했습니다. 사찰단 관계자들은 아직도 가동중인 영변원자로 폐쇄를 검증하고 감시하는 방법에 관해 북한측과 이해에 도달했다고 밝혔습니다.
북핵 사찰단은 영변 원자로 폐쇄시기는 앞으로 6자회담의 진전상황에 달렸다고 말했습니다. 6자회담은 7월중에 베이징에서 재개될 것으로 전망되고 있습니다.

South Korea says it will begin shipments of fuel aid to North Korea within two weeks, as part of an international agreement with Pyongyang to shut down its main nuclear reactor.
South Korea's Unification Ministry said today (Saturday) that Seoul will begin the shipment of some 50-thousand tons of heavy fuel oil to the North within two weeks.
That shipment is part of an agreement reached earlier this year with Pyongyang at the six-party nuclear talks. In February, North Korea agreed to shut down its main Yongbyon nuclear reactor in exchange for fuel aid and diplomatic benefits.
This week, nuclear inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency made their first visit to the Yongbyon nuclear complex since they were expelled in 2002. The inspectors say they reached an "understanding" with North Korea on how they will verify and monitor the shutdown of the reactor, which is still operating. They did not provide details.
Inspectors say the date when North Korea will shut down its nuclear reactor depends on the progress of the six-party talks. Those talks are expected to resume sometime next month.
