한국의 송민순 외교통상부 장관은 23일 방코델타아시아, BDA 북한자금 송금 문제와 관련해 “기대보다 속도는 빠르지 않지만 결국 원하는 방향으로 해결될 것”이라며 “그러나 시간표를 정하기에는 빠르다고 판단된다”고 말했습니다.
송 장관은 이날 정례 브리핑에서 “기술적인 문제를 해결해나가는 과정에서 그 방향은 제대로 움직이고 있다”면서 이같이 말했습니다. 송 장관은 또 23일 오전에 콘돌리자 라이스 미국 국무장관과 전화 통화를 갖고 BDA 문제 해결과 2.13 합의 초기 조치 이행 방안 등을 논의했다고 전했습니다.
북한은 마카오 BDA은행내 자금 송금 문제를 이유로 초기 조치를 이행하지 않고 있습니다. 오늘로 2.13 합의가 체결된지 꼭 100일이 됐습니다.

South Korea's Foreign Minister says resolution of a banking dispute holding up North Korea's nuclear disarmament is taking longer than expected.
Speaking in Seoul today (Wednesday), Foreign Minister Song Min-soon said progress is being made on technical problems related to the transfer of 25-million dollars that has delayed implementation of February's North Korean nuclear disarmament agreement. But he says it is too soon to say when it will be resolved.
The funds were frozen in Macau's Banco Delta Asia two years ago, after the United States accused the bank of laundering money for Pyongyang. Washington lifted restrictions on the money in March, but no bank has been willing to process the transfer to North Korea.
North Korean officials have said immediate steps will be taken to close its nuclear facility once the funds are received.
